Frequently asked questions

What devices does PearPetal support?

PearPetal runs on Android and iOS. You and a partner can be on either platform and sharing stays in sync.

Where is my cycle data stored?

Only on your own device, and on any of your own devices you choose to link. There is no server and no cloud. Nothing about your cycle is ever sent to us or any third party.

How do I share with a partner?

Open the Share tab, choose how much to share — cycle phase only, your fertile window, or your full cycle — and send the invite link or QR code to your partner. They open it in PearPetal to accept. They see a read-only view of exactly the scope you picked, and never your full private log.

Can my partner edit or re-share my data?

No. A partner's view is read-only, and they cannot pass access on to anyone else. Every change in your log is cryptographically signed by your own device, so nothing can be forged into it.

How do I stop sharing?

End the share from the Share tab. Sharing stops going forward and your partner sees that it has ended. Revocation is one-way — there is no way to un-share data your partner has already seen, so share deliberately.

How accurate are the predictions?

Predictions such as your fertile window and next period are estimates computed on your device from your own history, and they get better the more you log. They are not a diagnosis and not a contraceptive method — do not rely on them to prevent or achieve pregnancy.

What happens if I lose my phone?

Because there is no cloud, the best protection is a backup. Use Export in Settings to save a backup file (optionally password-protected), and Import it on a new phone to restore everything. If you have a second device linked, your data also lives there.

I forgot my backup password.

A password-protected backup cannot be recovered by anyone, including us — that is what keeps it private. Keep the password somewhere safe, or export an unprotected backup if you prefer to manage the file's safety yourself.
